ADMINISTRATIVE FEE RAISED

Notice 2017 No 27
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE RAISED FOR PROVISION OF EXTRAORDINARY LEVY STATEMENTS
Dear Member/Resident,
- At the Annual General Meeting on 6 June 2012 the Members adopted the Management Committee’s recommendation that an administrative fee of R10.00 was to be raised for the provision of a levy statement over and above that which is regularly dispatched in bulk by the Village Manager in order to update Members on the standing of their levy account.
- On a regular monthly basis all the levy payments are not being punctually made as per the Association’s Conduct Rule SW-1 which requires that all levies and other charges are payable in advance on or before the first day of each month for that particular month. The footnote associated with the particular rule states that whilst levies are to be paid on the first day of a particular month, the Members are granted a period of grace until the 7th after which a late payment penalty of 10% is raised against the levy account.
- The Village Manager is required to present the Management Committee with a monthly report on the levy accounts which are in arrears. The fact that the total of the outstanding levies is frequently so alarmingly high necessitates the Village Manager to have to make a special appeal upon Members to make payment of their arrear levies. The process requires that the request to offenders is accompanied by a levy statement.
- Members are to please take cognisance of the fact that the Committee’s adopted recommendation as it appears in paragraph 1 above, as from 1 June 2017, is to be made applicable to all Members who have not made payment of their monthly levies and consequently need to be officially reminded that they are in arrears.
